“My Life Under Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Thursday, April 3, 7pm, University of Tulsa Lorton Hall room 207 (map) Oklahomans for Equality is extremely proud to host Sgt. Brandy Stewart, member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard as she tells the story of serving under the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, the only federal law mandating the firing of an individual on the basis of their sexual orientation. Sgt. Stewart is profiled in Urban Tulsa Weekly and was featured on KWGS 89.5 FM’s Studio Tulsa today at 11:30am. Bernard Brandon Scott on “What the Bible Says About Homosexuality” Wednesday, April 2, 7-9pm, University of Tulsa Lorton Hall room 207 (map) The University of Tulsa’s United Campus Ministry hosts Bernard Brandon Scott, Darbeth Distinguished Professor of New Testament at the Phillips Theological Seminar, for a discussion about Christianity and homosexuality.

“The Conservative Soul: How We Lost It, How to Get It Back” lecture by Atlantic editor Andrew Sullivan Part of the Oklahoma City University Distinguished Speakers Series. The spring 2008 speaker, Andrew Sullivan, is senior editor of The Atlantic and a columnist for The Sunday Times of London. Sullivan’s The Daily Dish was recently ranked as the top political blog in the country. His book, Virtually Normal, is one of the best-selling gay rights books, and his essay, “What’s So Bad About Hate,” is included in the Best American Essays 2000.
