As we begin 2009, my prayer is for peace.
I pray for peace within myself.
I pray for peace for you within yourself.
I pray for peace between us.
We are different. We are the same.
We are different in so many ways.
We are alike in so many ways.
We are more alike than different.
We know our differences. We need to discover our similarities.
It is easy to reject or believe badly of someone when we don’t realize how much we have in common.
We need to open our minds and open our hearts to each other.
I may not look like you, act like you or talk like you. But, that does not mean we are not essentially the same: human.
We all love someone. We all have feelings. We all believe in something.
Let us focus on what brings us together, not what separates us.
Hurting others for sport, even when not with deadly force, is wrong.
We need to try harder to discover how we are the same and cultivate respect for each other.
