If you’re still looking for something affordable to give loved ones for Christmas, consider a lotion bar, tube of shea body butter or bath salts from Jordan Essentials. (If you remember Country Bunny Bath and Body, some of the products are the same.) There are many great products, but those are just a few that are sure to be a hit. And, they make an affordable gift.
.
You can look at the products here:

Order by phone or online by December 14th to have items delivered by Christmas. Call 1-877-662-8669. You will be placing an order through Rep ID number 10522. Deborah Hord.
.
There is a ‘grab bag’ special going on right now, too. With any purchase, you can also buy a ‘grab bag’ for $12. The value of the items is guaranteed to be $15 or more. I just called and asked about it. I have no idea what’s in the bags, but they said some have a value of $20. A couple of years ago, I bought grab bags and they had salt scrubs and shower gels. I’ve not yet purchased the bags this time, so I can’t offer any clues.
.
You can order online through the web page or by calling the customer service number. Be sure to place your order by December 14th in order to receive the items in time for Christmas.

eFolkMusic is in the process of making some big changes. Over the past year, efm has given away over 25,000 (TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND) free mp3 downloads. Membership has been only $30/year. Membership gives you access to over 2,000 free mp3 downloads (probably more than any of us will ever download).
.
Here’s what’s changing. There will still be free mp3 downloads offered. There will still be 10-FREE-MP-DOWNLOADS offered every so often. But, the individual free mp3s, on individual artists’ sites, will be available for free only to members.
.
So, to keep downloading tracks from eFolkMusic without actually having to buy them, all you need to do is join. It’s a really great deal. If you love folk music, in all its many incarnations, maybe it’s time for you to join eFolkMusic.
.
You can get lots of great music on mp3 downloads and help keep folk music alive (all at the same time!).
.
You’ll be glad you did!
.
Thanks!

I just want to say that I am crazy about eFolkMusic. I think it’s an incredible oasis for those who want to hear more music than what is available on commercial radio. There is some great music on the air, but there is even more music available here.
.
There are so many styles of ‘folk’ music, I know you will find mp3s you want to download. You’ll even find some of your favorite musicians in this space.
.
From personal experience, I’d like to say you can’t go wrong with a membership to eFolkMusic. For less than the price of two cds at current prices, you can have access to about 2,000 mp3 downloads (FREE ‘Member’ Downloads). What a deal!!!
.
eFolkMusic has been a leader in offering mp3 downloads for the past seven years. eFolkMusic offered mp3 downloads from a variety of artists long before other sites offered digital downloads.
.
eFolkMusic is a nonprofit organization and depends on your support for its survival. In the past year, visitors downloaded 25,000 FREE mp3 DOWNLOADS.
.
Now you have an opportunity to support eFolkMusic. Now is the time to do your part to help keep folk music alive. Membership in eFolkMusic begins at $30. Membership in eFolkMusic gives you access to about 2,000 mp3s. Do the math! It’s a great opportunity!
.
As a member, every mp3 marked ‘member download’ is a FREE mp3 DOWNLOAD for you. This translates to only pennies per song.
.
You won’t find a better value than eFolkMusic. Come on over and explore the music, listen to the previews and do your part to help keep folk music alive!

They’re posted now: “Let Go” from the “Hungry When I Wake” digital album, “You’re Not the Only One Who Hurts” from the “Lean In For A Kiss” digital album and “Teddy Bear” from the “Weird Duck” digital album. . This post was originally at the end of the Kids - Paint - Music - Teddy Bear post, but I kept finding links to the story and wanted to include them all. That’s okay. I wrote “Teddy Bear” in the early 1980’s. I am happy to share it with you and your family. You can download ‘Teddy Bear’ free from my eFolkMusic page. Your little ones will love it. You can sing it with them, too. The words and chords are below.

Teddy Bear
c.2003 Deborah L. Hord
v1. A D E A
Teddy Bear, I don’t care what they say about me. You’re my friend ‘till the end. There’s no need to doubt me. If you think I would leave just because they tease me, You should know I won’t go. I know that you need me.
Chorus – D A E A
You have been my good friend. I have loved you dearly. As I play every day, I will keep you near me.
v2.
Teddy Bear, everywhere I will take you with me. Who can know where we’ll go, but we will be happy. You’re my friend, ‘till the end. I will always love you. When I play every day, I am thinking of you.
Chorus –
You have been my good friend. I have loved you dearly. As I play every day, I will keep you near me.
v1.
Teddy Bear, I don’t care what they say about me. You’re my friend ‘till the end. There’s no need to doubt me.Why the Dog Chases the Cat October 21, 2007

Let Go
c.2003 Deborah L. Hord
From very early childhood, there’s a phrase that all of us hear, “What will you be when you grow up?” We hear it year after year. And when we grow up, we know better. But, we ask the very same thing. “What will you be when you grow up? What will the future bring?” . We hear it often as children. It burns itself into our minds. And, when we’re adults we remember. It’s a phrase we can’t leave behind. Doctors and lawyers and firemen, policemen and mommies and dads, Nurses and teachers and cowboys, were those all the choices we had? . One thing that they never did tell us, yet oh so important to know, It’s important to plan as well as you can, but you also just have to let go. . From very early childhood, we’re asked what we’re going to be. That’s all well and good. I suppose that we should, but a big piece is missing for me. The focus is all on the title. Where’s the focus on who we become, Compassionate, caring, committed to sharing, tremendous respect for each one? . One thing that they never did tell us, yet oh so important to know, It’s important to plan as well as you can, but you also just have to let go. . There’s so much information we never will know, and so many things are beyond our control. It’s good to look forward and work out a plan, but much of what happens is out of our hands. . We’ve moved beyond our childhoods, yet most of us have said, “I don’t know what I’ll be when I grow up.” We still carry that thought in our heads.
And, we measure our worth by profession instead of by who we’ve become. We need to remember that being ourselves is the best way to be someone. . One thing that they never did tell us, yet oh so important to know, It’s important to plan as well as you can, but you also just have to let go. One thing that they never did tell us, yet oh so important to know, It’s important to plan as well as you can, but you also just have to let go.

c.2003 Deborah L. HordYou aren’t the only one who hurts.
You aren’t the only one who has a broken heart. Why do you act like I’m invincible? Does that absolve you from responsibility? You aren’t the only one who hurts. . You aren’t the only one who hurts. But, you’re the only one receiving special care. Do you think you have never hurt me? Do you think you don’t have to live responsibly? You aren’t the only one who hurts. . I made exceptions for you all along. I tried to cater to your needs. But, I have feelings just the same as you. Why do you not take care of me? I try to be as gentle as I can. I never want to cause you pain. But, there is one thing I can’t understand. Why do you never think of me? Why do you never think of me? Why do you never think of me? Why do you never think of me? . You aren’t the only one who hurts. You aren’t the only one with sadness in your heart. Do you think no one else has feelings?
If you would look at me, just look at me, you’d see You aren’t the only one who hurts. . You aren’t the only one who hurts. You aren’t the only one who hurts.

I’ve had several requests to write more music for children.
.
I really enjoyed the day I spent, a couple of months ago in Tulsa, doing music assemblies for kids in an elementary school. They seemed to enjoy the music. I enjoyed singing for them..Yesterday, I was singing a few songs for an adult I know, and a four year old who was present said, “You could do CONCERTS!” That was a nice encouragement..
We sang an “A-E-I-O-U and sometimes Y” song. They loved it. They danced and sang along.I want to write a group of songs that are specifically for children, written for them and suitable for them.
.
I’d like some input on topics you think are appropriate for specific ages. Some of my songs on the Weird Duck cd are appropriate for some elementary school children. But, I’d like to write songs that are just right for kids as they experience life.
.
PLEASE COMMENT and give suggestions for songs you’d like to hear. What kind of songs would you like your child to sing? Will songs about brushing teeth and picking up toys help you and your kids?
.
If your kids have favorite singers, will you name them, too? I’d like to know who kids are listening to and what they enjoy. (At that elementary school, the kids in the talent show were lip-syncing to hip hop records. I think they were amazed and delighted to hear my songs about ducks and donkeys and dogs and geese.)

I’m working on a new round of songs. On http://efolkmusic.org , I have two digital albums up. One is Weird Duck. Almost all the songs are about animals and most could qualify as children’s songs. The other is Hungry When I Wake. It’s for adults, and the songs are stories about people I’ve seen or imagined. The digital albums are available for purchase. The individual songs are available free as mp3 downloads to eFolkMusic members.
.
Another cd, Lean In For A Kiss, is not yet available on efm. The (currently) free mp3 download “I Smile Again So You Won’t See Me Cry” is from that cd. Last year, I wrote songs for two more cds. I’m still waiting to record them in a studio. I hope to get started on that sometime this fall..So, when “Lean in For A Kiss” is available (recorded in 2003), and when the two cds from 2006 are online, and when the new group of songs are recorded and uploaded, there will be six cds available to download. Full length previews are available for every song that is available for download, so you can listen first and only keep the ones you like.
.
Thank you again for supporting folk music. If you’ve not yet checked out eFolkMusic it’s just a click away - http://efolkmusic.org .
