Here’s what I think:

.

Sarah Palin clearly loves the limelight.

.

Sarah Palin is very comfortable in front of a camera.

.

Sarah Palin performs much better in a comedy routine than in a press conference. (She is better with scripted comedy and acting than with unrehearsed answers to difficult questions about domestic issues or foreign affairs.)

.

My take on all of this:

Sarah Palin really believes that the McCain-Palin ticket is going to lose the election to the Obama-Biden team, and she’s trying to position herself for a new career in comedy, television or movies. This is my prediction and my interpretation of what I saw on the SNL skits from October 18, 2008.

.

I encourage Sarah Palin to choose this path. I think she could do well in the entertainment industry. In six weeks, she’s already more famous than many actors who have spent twenty years in the industry. She already has the connections. She’s already been the one to say the magic words, “LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!!”

.

Sarah Palin, this is your moment. You’re in position to have a career in entertainment. You don’t need John McCain. You don’t need the Vice Presidency.

.

Sarah Palin, you belong in front of a camera as an entertainer, not as a politician. This is where you are the happiest and the most likeable. This is where you belong.

.

Entertainment or Politics?

.

Entertainment

.

You don’t need me to tell you that. You already know it. You’re already preparing for the day after the election.

Did you see the Saturday Night Live show with Sarah Palin in the “LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!” spot October 18th? I didn’t see it Saturday night, but I’ve watched the opening skit just now, and I think it’s great.

.

Ha! Now, I’ve just watched the Weekend Update with Seth Meyers and Sarah Palin (same show, SNL October 18, 2008). The rap that Amy Poehler does is great.

.

You know what I think? I think one of two things, either Sarah Palin really believed it would help the McCain-Palin campaign for her to appear on a late night comedy show, OR, Sarah Palin really believes that the McCain-Palin ticket is going to lose the election to the Obama-Biden team, and she’s trying to position herself for a new career in comedy, television or movies. That’s my prediction. I think two is more likely than one. Remember that you read it here! 😉

Sarah Palin will be on Saturday Night Live TONIGHT, Saturday October 18, 2008. The show starts in less than one hour. Be there! (I’m seriously hoping the McCain campaign does not get any mileage out of this.) I bet this show will be one of the highest-rated SNL shows ever.

The most visits I’ve ever had before was less than half the number of visits today. I have Tina Fey and Sarah Palin to thank for most of my recent visits. I’m enjoying the traffic, but I’ll gladly give it up if you will all join me in helping Sarah Palin return home to Alaska. Tina Fey can do whatever she wants! She’s doing a great job of keeping us entertained.

.

Look at the ‘most active’ category below. I think it refers to visits this week. Tina Fey rocks! 🙂

[UPDATE: Tuesday October 7, 2008 You know what’s really weird? Sitemeter says I’ve had about 34,000 visits. WordPress says I’ve had over 40,000. And, if you look at Extreme Tracker, added much later, I admit, it only shows a few thousand. I wish I knew how these trackers calculate visits.]
